James Fairchild is a Dallas REALTOR® with Ebby Halliday Realtors and founder of The Fairchild Group, serving buyers, sellers, and investors across Dallas and North Texas. With decades of real estate experience spanning both Georgia and Texas, James is known for combining deep market knowledge, historic property expertise, and a commitment to community-centered housing solutions.
James began his real estate career in Atlanta after purchasing and renovating his first home at age 21. Licensed in Georgia in 1995, he joined Buckhead Brokers and was quickly recognized as Rookie of the Year before becoming a top-producing agent. After earning his Georgia Associate Broker license in 1998, he specialized in the adaptive reuse of historic commercial buildings into residential condominiums, working alongside developers through every phase of the development process from project concept to final closing during Atlanta’s early condominium boom.
In 2005, James returned to his home state of Texas, where he combined public service with higher education. While supporting Dallas-based nonprofit and public sector organizations focused on animal welfare, public health, economic development, and social services, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington, completing a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs and Public Policy.
Today, James brings a uniquely informed perspective to real estate in Dallas. He holds the Advanced Historic House Specialist designation from Preservation Dallas, the At Home With Diversity certification from the National Association of REALTORS®, and is recognized by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Texas Affordable Housing Specialist. James and his family live in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas near Kiest Park, where they recently restored their mid-century home and remain actively involved in the community.
